Design is the science of creating objects and spaces to enable interaction. Designing is more than aesthetics: it is about understanding how people perceive things, knowing what is important and what is not. If we do not design with the end user in mind, we do not meet their needs. As an artist, I believe that we should be designing for the users, using that knowledge to think about designs for the user rather than for the perceived needs of the object. It is much more about understanding the client’s needs, desires and expectations than it is about creating an aesthetic beauty.
Human beings are visual beings, so we naturally move toward visual stimuli when we are seeking information. Interface design is the application of psychology to the user interface to achieve this end. This includes research into how users learn and interact with computer software, studying how they comprehend and respond to user interfaces and studying human motivation.
When designing user interface design, designers pay special attention to typography. Research has shown that typography effects how users see and understand the information on a screen. In particular, research has shown that when designing a calendar or contact, the use of typography can help users move through the different stages of the app quickly and easily. App designers have to take these factors into account in order to design good user interface.
Other aspects of app design that affect how people perceive the product include colors and fonts. It has been found that a person’s attitude toward colors and fonts changes depending upon the mood that they are in. So, for instance, while blue and green colors are often associated with calm, serene conditions in nature, red is typically associated with excited or festive moods. These color changes can impact the moods of the people who are reading the message, which in turn may influence how they behave and react to the digital product or application.
Animation and other graphics can also have an impact on how we react to an application or product. Designers and artists who are into ux design are usually interested in how images and typography can impact the moods of the people who will be reading it. In this way, the design work that they do may not directly target the users but indirectly have an impact on their moods. For example, the images and typography in an application can attract users’ attention through animation or by displaying different elements, like a person speaking, as the video plays.
While these factors may not directly relate to the user experience, they are an important part of app design and web design works. In addition, it should be noted that colors and images can actually cause reactions that are outside of the expected norms. Thus, even if colors look great, the typeface and other visual elements may not be as appealing to the eyes as they could be. This means that colors and images are critical in influencing how users will feel when they’re using a digital product or application.
